Convmap.cp error

Take a look at the following.....

PROBLEM: Opening custom report links in Vantage generates the error: Unable

to open convmap.

XA500

XA510

XA520

RESOLUTION: Vantage 5.00 and higher no longer uses the Vantage.ini to

connect to report builder.

The report builder.vtg "other parameters" line no longer uses 'Basekey

ini'. It now uses the Progress.ini by default.

Report builder.vtg example:

[Vantage Startup]

Executable=V:\Progress\bin\prorb32.exe

Database=V:\Vantage\db\vantage

IniFile=V:\Vantage\Vantage.ini

ParameterFile=V:\Vantage\db\Vantage.pf

ConnectOptions=-N TCP -H mntech -S epic50

TempDirectory=C:\Vntg50

StartupProcedure=

OtherParameters=

--> NOTE: the 'OtherParameters=' line is now blank

Apparently this causes no problem with the database engine because it uses

the registry. You will need to edit the \Progress\Bin\progress.ini to

reference the mapped drive path instead of the physical drive path.

After editing the startup section it should look something like this:

Progress.ini

[Startup]

V6Display=no

;ImmediateDisplay=yes

;MultitaskingInterval=100

DefaultFont=MS Sans Serif, size=8

DefaultFixedFont=Courier New, size=8

DLC=V:\progress

Use-3D-Size=Yes

PROBUILD=V:\progress\PROBUILD

PROPATH=.,V:\progress\gui,V:\progress,V:\progress\bin,V:\progress\PROBUILD\E

UCAPP\EUC.PL,V:\progress\PROBUILD\EUCAPP

UseSourceEditor=yes

;EditorConfigPath=V:\prowork\proedit

Where V is a mapped drive.

Pay special attention to the DLC path, and be certain that it says

V:\progress, NOT V:\epic50\progress.

OTHER POSSIBILITES:

Check the Environment Variables in the System Control Panel on the problem

machine. If there is a reference to a DLC, make certain it points to the

correct mapped driver letter.

Check the REGISTRY for any references to DLC. These need to be pointing to

the correct mapped drive for Vantage.

Hello all,

I have a user who get this error when ever he tries to print/view a custom reports. He is able to print any of the can reports that came with Vantage.

Unable to open convmap file '\convmap.cp'
