Copy to Excel

I know there have been several conversations about Copy to Excel issues. I started having an issue with a Dashboard I wrote. We in process of upgrading to 10.2.200.12 and when I try to copy to excel it either crashes or I get an Out of Memory exception. I don’t have any issues with the same dashboard in E9.

I wan’t sure if it is just the amount of data and/or changes with E10.

Just curious where others are on this issue.

I did open a case with Epicor.

Do you have Excel open already when you try to “Copy to Excel”?

  1. Which version of Office/Excel are you using?
  2. Do other users on their own machines experience the same issue doing the same activity that you are trying?
  3. Have you tried using the 64bit client to see if that changes the behavior? (right-click on your epicor shortcut > properties > change the target line reference from epicor.exe to epicor64.exe, apply your changes. Try to log in again).
  4. Approximately how many rows are returned by your dashboard?

Had the same issue here. We found this to be an issue with Windows 32 bit. Reinstalled Windows 10 x64 with Office 365 and all was well.

tried both ways

try clear your cache memory, log off, then log on under different user name, then off and on using yours.

1& 2. O365 and I can duplicate the same issue the user is having.

  1. I did’t try it but did before I responded. My results are the same…unresponsive then finally crashes.

  2. It is 8223 rows and no issues doing this in E.905.702A.

It is a shame that this feature worked well in Epicor 9 but it is failing in E10.

We are using Windows 10 64bit. and O365

Interesting because we are starting it use 10.20.200.12 and it is not fixed. We did have an issue before on and older version of 10 but heard it was going to be fixed. Applied the patches and now it started up again…or at lease with this report.

Did your issue with Excel resolve with 10.2.200.13 or higher? We have a similar issue with 10.1.600.21. In planning stages for a upgrade but that will take some time given the extent of our customizations.
