calendar(CQ:H, Std, (@[Invoice Date],$)) will give you Q3 2008

calendar(CQ:P, Std, (@[Invoice Date],$)) will give you a number 3

there is an option in the formula dialog box to choose "Use Calendar" -
you can select that and play around.
