Corvu - Sorting by Month

Ok,

First there is another forum for corvu which may be of interest.

First of all there should be a coloumn within the query for the ship
date. I don't know where as I haven't looked.

Add a column then use the calendar wizard to create formula which will
automatically turn that date into the month number. Remember to set
your column as the correct type.

Hope this helps.
I am working in Corvu, and one of the reports uses Shipping Month as
the second column behind Shipping Year. The year is sorted fine,
because it is numeric, but the Shipping Month is sorted
alphabetically. This is just hard to read because it goes: April,
February, January, June, March, May etc. Is there anyway to convert
this to numeric or something to allow a proper sort? I need it to
show: Jan, Feb, March etc.

Thanks!
Ben
Create a Column at the correct level to provide a month number. Then
use this new column and hide if necessary.
That is exactly what I need help doing.

They only offer the field with "Jan 2005" etc as an option. I want to
be able to convert that to "1"

I don't really know how.

Also, any time I create an If Then statement in corvu, I get the error
"Can only assign a value to a variable"

The formula I am using is this (as a start):
@[Ship Date Month] = "Apr 2005" ? 4 : 0

I'll add the other months if I can get the error message to go away.

Thanks,
Ben

Try this. Same as your except the 2 =

@[Ship Date Month] == "Apr 2005" ? '4':0
