Cost adjustments with DMT

Such helpful people! Do you have a consultant helping you?

On GL Transaction Type Menu go to Actions - Import ACTType - then click the
Input File Name to search for the posting rules - these should be in your
Epicor905 folder under Server - Posting Rules - there are two folders here
one called Extended and one called Standard - I use Extended - open the
folder and select all of the files in that folder and click open. Then click
Import All, Replace All, Change All Revision Statuses to Active - click ok.
On the next screen choose the target book on the first item and then in the
bottom left hand corner tick Use for all Transaction Types. Click OK

This will then import all your posting rules - it will take some time - so
go and make a tea or coffee

Thanks for the words of caution! Luckily this is a test environment for the
reason you mention and many others! In the process of dealing with this I
discovered what may be another issue. I noticed that my GL transaction type
master files are blank. The help app says they are loaded by default. So I
contacted our friendly Epicor support. If they are loaded by default, why
are they blank? They told me to contact my (non-existent) consultant.
Would you happen to know the answer?

Thanks for your interest and assistance!

Stan

Subject: [Vantage] Cost adjustments with DMT

I am in the process of loading a 9.05 database with data exported from
Vantage 6.1 using the Data Management Tool. I believe I have most if not all
master files loaded so I attempted a dry run of inventory quantities on hand
in preparation of go live day. When I run a stock status I see the
quantities and costs for inventory value. I used reason codes for the
quantity and cost adjustments but when I look at the charts for Inventory
and Inventory adjustments they are all still at 0. Can any one shed any
light on the process I used and/or the questionable results?
Thanks

Stan
