Cost method issue on Part

I have Part that I can’t get the Cost Method and/or Qty Bearing will not update across the Part Plant. The part I have is set to Avg and Qty bearing checked. When I unchecked the Qty Bearing and Cost changes to Std I click save and it asks if I want to update Part Plant. I click yes and acts like it updates but nothing changes. Of course I can’t change it manually because I get the error message Part Plants with different cost methods within the same Cost ID is not allowed.

Any thoughts?

To change a Cost Method, first and foremost make sure there is no inventory against the part…if there is you should zero it out, change the method, then add the inventory back. Is change the cost method the only thing you need to do?
