CR 8.5 - V 6.10.533 CR Q&A: "JOIN" type function

I'm a little confused by this question, but I'll try to answer.

First I think the Report Definition mentioned by the other fellow is
probably a Version 8 feature because I don't know about it either.

One of the questions in your original e-mail was "What is the CR
equivalent of a RB 'JOIN'?" The quick answer to that is "Link".

You talked about rebuilding reports, but I think your immediate
question is about the quote form. If you need to add a field to a
form that Vantage doesn't supply, the routine is add that table as a
sub-report with ODBC. Vantage support should have a document giving
you the basics on doing that. Hopefully you've already got ODBC set
up, if not, get a document from support on that too.

If you have problems getting that to work, shoot back another
question.

Crystal Gang:

I (primitively) know Report Builder. Now I need to reconstruct all our RB
reports into CR. A long journey begins with a single step. My first
question is as follows:

What is the CR equivalent of a RB “JOIN “? I need to add the Primary
Contact eMail to the Quotation form. All that V allows (in their infinite
wisdom) is the general eMail from the Customer Maintenance table.

TIA!!

RG

Report Definition Within Vantage?

I donÂ’t know what that is, or where it is in Vantage. I
strongly appreciate your reply! (RG)

It will then allow you to reference the Contacts Email
Address on the Report.
