Kinda scary you can change the dates on these screens if you ask me.

The date would normally be set to the current day by default, but if the
user changed it - say on a shipment, inv transfer, qty adjustment - they may
have entered an incorrect date in error.

All,

We are on 407 currently. We have a specific part that all the sudden has a
very strange transaction history table. The part is now showing negative
quantity numbers all the way back to the begin of the part history. No I
understand that a negative quantity is not a problem but I'm saying 90% of
the quantities are negative. From what I can figure out vantage calculates
these quantities by taking the current on hand quantity in the bins and
adding and subtracting each transaction all the way back to when we began to
use the system. There is no other piece of data stating at this point in
time there was this amount on hand in the system other than this calculated
field. We have screen shots showing the trans log history was okay up until
the 21st of this month where the quantities are okay not many negs. Barring
the idea that some one back doored the system and changed the data directly
because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one with enough knowledge to be able to
do this. This means that a transaction took place that was able to change
the bin quantity but we aren't seeing the subsequent transaction log entry.

Hi Charlie,

I've had part tran history show me strange stuff after I've done a cost adjustment that frankly I never understood, but there was a lot of removing an adding back in, could that be the culprit?

Cost adjust can affect Quantity / running total? From what we can tell we
haven't made any recent cost adjustments.

We had a receipt matched to the wrong inventory in AP which does automatic adjustments and creates some variance. I remeber tran. history looked very strange. This was on our test system though and I've since trashed that db. I'd guess it's something like that that you wouldn' expect to do a bunch of minusing inventory.

A future transaction may not show on the Part Transaction History Tracker since the Cut-Off Date defaults to today.

Try setting it to way in the future and then comparing the SysDate and TranDate columns.

May turn up something.

screen is broke we are on version 8.03.407 I don't know how far back this
problem goes but I have been told it has been slated to be fixed in
8.03.409.
