Our company has 3 plants: A, B, and C
Plant A is mainly for distribution and some rush orders. For all
intents and purposes in this case, it is not a production plant. It
gets its stock shipped to it from our production plants--B and C--and
then ships out the stock when necessary. Ocassionally, an order will
be for a larger quantity than what Plant A has in stock. In that case,
we want to pull what we can from Plant A and have Plant B or C produce
the remaining quantity and ship it to Plant A where the full order
will then be shipped to our customer.
What we are looking to do is enter all our Sales Orders through Plant
A and have those orders, through the MRP, create suggested Transfer
Orders for whatever we do not have in stock. We would then like to be
able to tell the transfer orders which of our two production plants to
create jobs for (either B or C).
Is it possible, when we need additional parts for an order, for the
MRP to create suggested Transfer Orders for the remaining quantities
(plus Min/Maxes) rather than local jobs? Also, would it then be
possible for us to edit those Transfer Orders and tell them which
Plant (B or C) we want to manufacture the parts?
