Credit and Collections

The problem is that the data only needs to be hidden IF the type of
call is from our accounting group. I think the way we are going to go
is to burn a UD text field and use field level security on it that
way. The call log functionality woul dhave been nice because of the
date/time stamping and you could see all the information in a list.
The UD field will work for my accounting group so I think I am going
to go that direction. Thanks for the response.

Our credit and collections group would like to use call log
functionality in 803.400, however, they don't want the rest of the
organization seeing their notes. Has anyone else solved this problem?
What technique did you use?

I don't know a of a way to secure a field/record based on a value from
within the table. The Credit area is putting an Accounting type as the
call type on the customer record, but I haven't found a way to screen
those out easily for non-accounting area people.
Vantage clearly does not have any collections functionality that we
have found. Further to your point (I think), we are trying to find a
way that our accounting department can record notes and then have
something similar to the Milestones function in CRM that will generate
some kind of pop-up/alert on the prescribed follow up date. We have
not seen anything that supports this requirement.

We have a meeting with IQS (our Quality module) on Thursday and we
think there might be some way to capture the info and effect the kind
of of process we're hoping to use--if I learn more I will be glad to
share with you. Good luck.

You're right about Vantage not having a Milestone function, but it
does have a "Review Date" (on Customer Maintenance & Credit Manager).
We use this to record the date at which the next action is to be
taken on an account, i.e. the next phone call or letter. Vantage
doesn't have any sort of in-built alert for this field so we print a
weekly report listed in date order.

Not perfect by any means, but it helps.

Leannah,

Have you tried using field security? I have used this in other
Vantage programs to hide fields from certain users.
