Credit card processing in Vantage 8.03.403C

Last I looked, I was very surprised to see that there is no encryption
being done on credit card numbers - and yes - they do appear to be being
stored.

It's my intention to lobby Epicor to make the package compliant with the
PCI standard.

As it is now, I wouldn't use it.

Anyone using the credit card processing features in Vantage 8.03.400?
Our mgmt team is very nervous about capturing/storing customer credit
card data and is concerned about using the credit card module. I
think it seems great and will save us loads of time both on the sales
and accounting side.

Opinions? Concerns? Problems?

Thanks,
I'm just loading V8 so don't have any hands-on yet with the credit card
information but came across something in the help file that you should
read. Go into help and search for "credit card security". They also
have a whole blurb about SOX compliance.

Butch
