Has anyone successfully used this tool to import customer info without over writing the original info?
How does it work?

You can do either update or you can import

Mark,

Does the update over write the current data?
How do you prevent it from writing data that is already there?

If there is a match you will see it in the matched customer tab. You cannot
override a customer ID but if you want to change say the customer name and
import it then it will override and update the name only on the existing
customer record. If everything else matches it will not override anyhing
