Crystal issues

Hi group,

Is it possible to index multiple directories when running reports through
Vantage. I want to print Company information on the S.O Acknowledgement
report. Vantage does not write the info to vntgwork directory that is why
the Company phone number does not appear on the canned report.etc

I want to put the Company dbf in the vantage user directory however I cannot
get Crystal to look there when running the report. I get the error cannot
find data at vntgwork directory.

How can I get the information to write to the vntgwork directory or how can
I get the report to look in multiple locations?

I am on Crystal 8.5 / Vantage 5.1

Thank you

You need to add a database to the report, link them to the right fields and
then you can utilize the data in your report.

Don,
If I understand your situation correctly... I would offer the following.

Vantage sends the .dbf files for the Vantage Crystal reports to your "working directory". For my workstation, this is c:\epic51, which is what I entered during the Client Install of Progress & Vantage. However, you will notice that by default the Crystal report itself (click Database/Set Location and look at each table for the location) is set for c:\temp.

Now, bring the report you want modify up on your screen in Vantage with a Print Preview. While the report is in Preview, and the same report opened in Crystal Designer, change the c:\temp for each Crystal table to your working directory (in our case c:\epic51). Also, do a Database/Verify Database after changing the locatioin. You can safely save the report with this location and it will still work in Vantage.

In Crystal Designer you should be able to Preview the report now as the .dbf files will be in the correct location for Crystal to see. You can also now add fields from the .dbf files to your report.
