Crystal laser checks reports

I submitted this as a suggested enhancement 4 yrs ago and tried to get it on
the lists when we voted for Cairo and Cyprus but never got enough votes. I
have been advised by Epicor that there are no plans to make the PR check a
Crystal report. I guess there are not enough of us using payroll to be
heard. We have needed minor changes from the beginning (i.e. get the words
"sick leave" off) but have not been able to do it. I have experimented with
many avenues such as ODBC, printing to PDF, Results and others but have not
found anything acceptable yet.

As far as I have been able to determine, there is no Crystal Payroll check
form available in any versions of Vantage to date. As this is a "hot
button" issue for my boss, I would be thrilled to find a work around that

Is there a crystal or report writer report to be used for printing laser
checks? I found A/P checks in crystal listed under report style, yet I could
not find any under payroll. Should I modify the Crystal A/P report to
accommodate payroll deductions, etc.? I hope someone out there have
knowledge, a crystal or report writer report out there to share. Also, where
do I select this particular report to be the default for payroll checks?
Could not find that either.

Any information on the subject is appreciated.
