Running Vantage 803.305L

I need to create the standard Order Acknowledgement pulling all orders with specific salesperson. Tried to add a criteria in the Data definition, but it will not allow me to do that. I can add the parameter in the Crystal report, but it will not return any data since the data is based on another xml format. Not sure how I can have Vantage prompt me so that I can get all orders with specific salesperson id. This is a report that I need to add as a menu item for others to run.

Any help you provide is greatly appreciated.

Ken,

Unfortunately, you cannot modify system default Report Data Definitions.
You would need to make a copy of that respective RDD and then make
modifications to that definition and then create a new Report Style
linking that form to your modified RDD.

However, that being said, what you want to accomplish isn't as easy as
it may seem and modifying the Report Data Definition isn't the correct
approach.

To pull Sales Order Ack info for a specific salesperson within a
specific timeframe will require you to create a new report. Create a
new BAQ Query and BAQ Report and use filters and option fields in the
BAQ Report to limit the results as you desire. Create a new Crystal
Report mimicking the format of your current Sales Order Ack and using
the result set returned by your BAQ Report. Note: Trying to use
Vantage's default Sales Order Ack form and tailoring it to your new BAQ
will not be impossible, but *very* painful and more time consuming then
just re-creating it. Then, once you're comfortable with your new BAQ
Report, hang it off the menu anywhere you desire.

Good luck.

Thanks Vic. One more question, if I use a BAQ query and report, do I still need Crystal report? and will I be able to prompt the user for the salesperson ID?

Ken, yes, BAQ Query and Reports pump the data out from Vantage to Crystal via XML.

So, yes, you will still need Crystal. It's good to have.

Thanks Vic. One more question, if I use a BAQ query and report, do I still need Crystal report? and will I be able to prompt the user for the salesperson ID?

Good luck.

Running Vantage 803.305L

I need to create the standard Order Acknowledgement pulling all orders
with specific salesperson. Tried to add a criteria in the Data
definition, but it will not allow me to do that. I can add the parameter
in the Crystal report, but it will not return any data since the data is
based on another xml format. Not sure how I can have Vantage prompt me
so that I can get all orders with specific salesperson id. This is a
report that I need to add as a menu item for others to run.

Any help you provide is greatly appreciated.
