Crystal (Payroll Date = Today) help

Just curious,

Why don't you also automatically select the appropriate shift when the
report is run, based on the time of day the report is being run?

selection Formula:

If (Hour(CurrnetTime)*60+Minute(CurrentTime)) < 1stShiftStartMinute Then
{LaborHead.Shift}=3
else (If (Hour(CurrnetTime)*60+Minute(CurrentTime)) <
2ndShiftStartMinute Then
{LaborHead.Shift}=1
else (If (Hour(CurrnetTime)*60+Minute(CurrentTime)) <
3rdShiftStartMinute Then
{LaborHead.Shift}=2
else ({LaborHead.Shift}=3)))

Add more if-else statements for more shifts. Place this in your
Selection Criteria formula window, under the LaborHead.Shift field
formula. Be sure to calculate the cutoff points beforehand for your
appropriate shift start points (i.e. 1st Shift starts @ 6AM, so
1stShiftStartMinute=360). Be sure to keep a copy of the manual
filter/select report on hand for when someone needs to run the report
outside of the date/time range.

Kelly,

The Crystal Function you are looking for is simply CurrentDate.

So your selection statement would be something like

{laborhead.payrolldate}=CurrentDate.

When using the Select Expert you'll need to click the Show Formula
button, then click the Formula Editor Button, then enter the
statement above.

Hello,

I'm trying to write a labor edit report that our shop foreman would run
at the end of each shift (through distribution export in 8.5). The only
filter that I want to make them change is the shift. I'd like to have
the report automatically select the current date and use that for the
payroll date.

I think this is possible but I'm not sure how to accomplish this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kelly
