Crystal prompts and Report Style question (Vantage 8)

The dynamic parameter I am experiencing this error with is also one
that allows the user to select multiple values.

I tried changing the parameter to a static parameter, but I still get
the same error.

Print previewing does work correctly, as someone mentioned.

1.
I put a parameter field in a Crystal report, a static list of values that will decide which address prints on the report.
If user previews the report, they see the prompt, if sent straight to printer it opens the print dialog, pick a printer and it starts to open preview, but then gives an error ("ActiveX control [long number/letter value here] cannot be instantiated because the current thread is not in a single threaded apartment")
Am I doing something wrong here?

2.
In looking around for a solution to this, I found a field that I don't know what it does.
If you open Report Style, pick a report, click the Styles tab on right, then List tab below that, there's a setting for "PrintProgramOptions"
What does this do? No report I found had any values in there.

Thanks for any help

Tony,

What version of Vantage 8 are you on? We went live on 8.03.305 and
our Crystal Reports worked fine. I am now testing on .404 and I am
getting the same error when printing (preview works) a CR report that
prompts for input.

I too am looking for a solution... will let you know if I come across
something.

I have reported this issue to Epicor. It seems that certain types of prompt
are throwing an Active X error. I experienced this with the prompt where you
have two boxes and you move item from the box on the left to the right.

The issue has been sent in to development. I have not received an SCR for
this issue.

I worked with Mary Troop at epicor for several days before it was decided
this was an actual problem and not just a problem with what modifications I
had done to one of their stock reports.

As soon as I see an SCR I'll let you all know

~Charlie.

It has never been resolved, so if someone has a solution . . . I'm

We are on V8.03.404 and CRXI. We also noticed the problem last month
when a parameter was added to a CR form. Upon addition of the
parameter, some users started complaining immediately that the
reports would not print; others had no problem.

It took us a couple of days to realize that the difference was that
some users were pre-viewing the reports prior to printing and others
were trying to print directly without previewing.

Being new to CR, I assumed that was the way CR was supposed to work.

Thanks for the postings.

There is a conflict between the new runtime and the old version of crystal
report. There is a patch that fixes the problem, but development says they
do not support it. I have installed the patch and have had no problem with
my work station. I will have to find the install instruction for this and
get you the information.
