Crystal Rep and 8.03

Thanks for the help. I corrected those entries although it still doesn't
seem to be working correctly. Also, if I look in
"C:\mfgsysdata\Reports\<user>\"
I don't see any of the reports appearing.

Good morning,

Ever since we installed 8.03 Crystal has ceased to function for
printing/previewing anything from Vantage. I've checked everything I know to
check and reinstalled both Crystal and the Vantage client. Has anyone else
run into this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to things I may
need to check?

Thank you,

The system Agent gets messed up between the two versions. You need to
check your paths, and make sure the right app server ports are
referenced. If you have 8.0 still running you can use that as a
reference. Typically, replace the 8.0 path names with 8.03 path names.

Hope this helps.

What Bruce said. The conversion program does not update your company System
Agent settings.

Go to your Progress Explorer, expand the AppServer folder and do a properties
on your MfgSys803TaskAgent (or whatever the database is called, but it will
end with "TaskAgent"). Write down the port number, for example: 8303.

Go to System Management | Utilities | System Agent

If it doesn't come up automatically, search and select SystemTaskAgent

In the Task AppServer pane, the AppServer URL should be:

AppServerDC://{yourserver}:{port id from above}

e.g. AppServerDC://ERP:8303

In the System AppServer Pane, the AppServer URL should be:

AppServerDC//{yourserver}:{main port}

You could have gotten the main port in the Progress Explorer but it's also
displayed in the task bar of the System Agent (There must be some reason why
the SystemAgent program can't fill that in for you...)

e.g. AppServerDC//ERP:8301

A couple of other things to check in this pane. The Server File Directory
should use a drive letter to improve performance:

e.g. C:\MfgSysData

The Client File Directory and Client Program directories should use UNC
values:

e.g. \\ERP\MfgSysData and \\ERP\epicor\MfgSys803\Server

Finally, if you have a decent speed machine and not a ton of clients, you can
lower the number in the "Processing Delay" field. I believe this is how often
the client checks to see if a report is ready. The default is ten, so cutting
it in half or more will give the user a perceived speed improvement as the
report could have finished 9 seconds earlier

HTH,
