Crystal Report truncating filter

Thanks everyone for their suggestions, but the problem was very strange and needed a very weird solution. It must have something to do with the fact that the report parameter filter field is in an XML format and requires calculated fields to extract the information. Everything look fine in Crystal with the string returned by the calculation, but Vantage trimmed the first and last characters. My solution was to add a character to the front and end of the string in Crystal and then trim them off. The results should have been exactly the same as the string I started with, and in Crystal it looked the same, but for some strange reason it got rid of the problem in Vantage.

Â
Is the field on an edge of the report? Maybe printer margins are causing the problem. Try a different printer or to pdf.

Vantage 8.03.407A Progress

I have a Crystal Report that can be filtered by Customer. In the report I have a calculated field that shows the Customer ID of the Filter. When I do a print preview in Crystal or browse the data in the field in Crystal I see the entire Customer ID (NB0389), but when Vantage prints out the report I see B038. It drops the first and last characters. Its not a problem with the size of the field, it is plenty large enough to accomedate 6 characters.

Anyone have any ideas on whats going on here?
Are you sure that there is nothing overlapping the field in your report
design? Also check to make sure you don't have a format that trims
characters on the ends.

Vantage 8.03.407A Progress

I have a Crystal Report that can be filtered by Customer. In the report
I have a calculated field that shows the Customer ID of the Filter. When
I do a print preview in Crystal or browse the data in the field in
Crystal I see the entire Customer ID (NB0389), but when Vantage prints
out the report I see B038. It drops the first and last characters. Its
not a problem with the size of the field, it is plenty large enough to
accomedate 6 characters.

Anyone have any ideas on whats going on here?
