Crystal Reports $99 upgrade promotion

I have version 8.5, version X and version XI all installed on the same
PC and have not encountered any issues.



When I did the installs, I made sure I installed them in different
directories.



I have both Vantage 6.1 & Vantage 8.0 versions on my PC and have not
encountered any issues.

I just wanted everyone to know I received a notification from Business
Objects that previous versions of Crystal Developer can be upgraded to
XI developer through Business Objects directly for $99. Great deal for
us as we own two copies of previous versions. The typical upgrade is
$315 ea.

I am assuming that you do not have your Crystal Reports under
maintenance contract with Epicor.

We receive update CDs for Crystal from Epicor when a new release comes
out.



Or...is this for something different?

We actually owned Crystal prior to going with Epicor back in 2001.
Therefore, we have maintained our licensing separate from maintenance.

We upgrade to Crystal XI Developer today. Does anyone know if a user
can have both 8.5 and XI installed on a single machine at the same
time? I assume I have to keep 8.5 to modify my Vantage reports, but
I'd like the new functionality of XI.

I have installed 8.5, X, and XI on the same machine. The only problem I
run into is double clicking a *.rpt file. It automatically opens with
whatever the newest version is. You can obviously override this within
the explorer so it is just a minor inconvenience.

We upgrade to Crystal XI Developer today. Does anyone know if a user

We were warned by Ben Nixon to not mix the two versions on the same
machine. Some of the dlls and support files have the same names and
they will overwrite the older versions We keep a separate machine
for version X, which we use to edit Advanced Shipping reports.
