Crystal Reports - barcodes scan with and without decimals

Vic,

This worked for us - we have now changed a couple of reports and labels based on this.

Thank you,
Karen

On your ToText() function, try using the additional arguments:

ToText({your_field},0,"")

The zero forces to NO decimals. I know the INT() should do that but I've
seen cases of formatting in Crystal where the ToText always dumps in
decimals.

The empty quotes ("") tell it to never use a comma (thousands separator).

Subject: [Vantage] Crystal Reports - barcodes scan with and without decimals

Hi all,
I have a Crystal Report that uses barcodes and formulas such as -
"*"+ToText(Int({orderrel.OrderNum}))+"$I"+"*". We use terminal servers to
connect to Epicor and different printers...On some printers this barcode
scans correctly as the integer only of the order number and a tab
character...On other printers this barcode scans with decimal places (order
number + .00). We have tested it is not the scanner - the same printed
report scans the same way with multiple scanners.

Does anyone have any ideas on what we can check into?

TIA,
Karen
