Thanks for the encouragement, but our fellow members might not be too happy about it!

Take care - Andy

I edit a crystal report and everything works fine (for a day or so) until the datasource xml in my folder is cleared. See Error in Photos "Database Login".

Which step am I missing?

You just need to run your report again in Vantage and a new XML will be
there for your datasource. You can then edit your report.

Thanks Karen. It worked like a charm.

"Crystal Reports, Die the next Day"

Sounds like the next James Bond film, doesn't it?

Bond is trapped in a tiny, hot & noisy server room. There's no window, the door is sealed, and the air-con is broken. He reads a scrawled note left on the floor - it's an ultimatum. "Make the Inventory Valuation Crystal Report work, or in 24 hours all of the fans in the servers will have their polarity reversed, filling the room with choking dust-laden air, and you will die... AH HAAAA HAAAGH!!". Bond checks out the report in the designer screen, it's full of badly implemented sub-reports, recursive joins, undeclared shared variables, and lack of consideration for table indices!!

Sadly, it never made it to the big screen.

I'm sorry, this is of no use to anyone, sorry, I won't do it again, sorry!

Andy.

Comic relief is always useful - especially when it comes to Vantage or Crystal Reports. Thanks, Andy!

And I'm sure that you'd be able to find some volunteers to help out, trapped in that tiny, hot & noisy server room - but only if it's Daniel Craig or a young Sean Connery. sigh

Keep working on that script.
