Crystal Reports Logon to db

The error logs don't have anything pertinent in them [I've got some CPUs with unsynchronized time stamps, though]. I'm getting a logon failure note in the classic Windows fashion, so yes, I'm talking to the machine at some level at least.

It's becoming clearer that I don't know enough about the interaction between Windows logon and SQL authentication, but it's still frustrating that I'm following the directions exactly and hitting a wall.

I have a number of BOM-related reports [many thanks again, Brian!] that have to run as processes external to Vantage [though setting them up as reports to access from Vantage is pretty easy]. Neither the reports nor the executables are large, but they're not being at all cooperative. I think I've solved getting the imported assemblies into the GAC of folks' machines, but the logon is simply NOT working. This is all the more aggravating because I'm taking the code right from the tutorials, only putting in my strings, paths, and such.

Hello,

Does anyone have a proven way to use VB to log on to a SQL database and run a Crystal Report? I have a number of BOM-related reports [many thanks again, Brian!] that have to run as processes external to Vantage [though setting them up as reports to access from Vantage is pretty easy]. Neither the reports nor the executables are large, but they're not being at all cooperative. I think I've solved getting the imported assemblies into the GAC of folks' machines, but the logon is simply NOT working. This is all the more aggravating because I'm taking the code right from the tutorials, only putting in my strings, paths, and such.

I've been breaking my head on this for a week or more, and it's driving me much nuttier...

Help?

TIA,
Lynn Thomas

What are you seeing in the db error logs? Are you even talking to MSSQL server?

Hello,

Does anyone have a proven way to use VB to log on to a SQL database and run a Crystal Report?
