Crystal Summary without grouping

Looks like it would work if I knew how many different parts there
would be, but that changes every time. I am going to see if I can
make it work with some sub reports.

I have a report that shows all released jobs, the part required and
the quantity. I am trying to add a summary for the total of each
materials quantity without actually grouping by the material part.

Right click on the field (in the detail band) in developer mode and
select "Insert Summary"

I have 10 Jobs, 3 require 400 of part x, and 7 require 500 or part
y, at the end I would like it so show:
part x: 1200
part y: 3500

but I d not want to use grouping.

If you're not going to use grouping you'll need to either use variables
or Running Totals. With Running Totals, you can reset the "running
total" at each Job therefore giving you a RT for each job. But if you
have no grouping, hence a group footer, this will be useless.

So, if you must not have grouping, you will have to get crafty with
variables.
