# Crystal Web Component - Refresh ODBC data - userID/Pass word?

<div id="ygrps-yiv-530343289">This is the &quot;looping login&quot; problem that has been discussed.  Ted Kitch is the expert on getting it to work the right way. Otherwise, the workaround is to run CWC from a DOS prompt (which shows up on the taskbar) instead of running it as a service.  There is an email about it in the archives, but I don&#39;t have the time at the moment to go find it.<br/>

  When a user click the refresh button, it prompts for the userId and<br/>
  password.  We do not have user id&#39;s and passwords for ODBC and we usually<br/>
  leave them blank, and click ok and it works.  However, this screen is<br/>
  different than the one we get with the odbc driver and it will not accept<br/>
  the blanks.  does anybody know what I need to do to get past this?<br/>
