How is your speed under SQL Server? We used to be on SQL Server (v5.1) but
went back to Progress after the bugs and the speed wore us down. I was just
wondering if it has improved at all?
Thanks

Subject: [Vantage] CURRENT EXPERIENCE WITH 5.2 AND PRODUCT CONFIGURATORS
For those users who are into the product configurator, these are our
experiences so far with 5.2:
* When the BOM of a configured item need to be revised, it has to be
checked out to the Engineering Workbench, approved after revision, checked
back in to the Part Master, and then the revision has to be unapproved
before work can finally be done on the configurator. It was much easier to
toggle between the configurator and BOM in 5.1.
* If you insert an operation or material in the BOM, or god forbid
resequence, the configurator rules do not follow the material or operation
it was originally attached to. We had one instance where all the rules from
a particular point in the material list downwards were grouped together
under that one material sequence. We did not experience this with 5.1.
* When a revision is made on the configurator rules, I needed to exit
all the way out of Vantage before the revision can be tested. Otherwise, the
change is not posted or compiled. We did not experience this with 5.1.
We are running 5.2 under SQL. I hope the majority who run Vantage under
Progress have a much more positive experience.
