Custom field in Demand - how to bring into Orders, Pack Slips, o

Hi all,

Nigel helped point me in the directions needed for this item. I
thought I would post the resolution. First, I did as Nigel
suggested, custom map fields from Demand to Sales Orders. Then, I
added the custom fields to the RDD for my 856 output (linked
tables). The final step was to get these fields on Customer
Shipment entry screen - actually, we only need a lookup. So, I
created a BAQ and a quick search lookup to bring in the RELEASE
information from a Sales Order onto the customer shipment entry
screen. All seems to be working as we need it.

We created a custom field in Demand that is populated from EDI through
Service Connect. We see the field in Demand, but it does not carry
through to Orders and further. How do we accomplish that?

You can pass the UD fields from Demand to Sales Orders by using the
Custom Field Map program in System Management | Utilities.

However there is no automatic way of carrying them "further" (I
presume you mean to jobs/shipments/invoices. You'll have to create
BAMs or BPMs for that.
