I neglected to mention that I purchased Epicor (formerly known as Vantage)
in 1999 without any enhanced modules and have not added any since. That
probably explains why I cannot find the Forecasts where I expected - in
Order or Inventory management. Is that a piece of either AMM or CRM?

The majority of our customers order via blanket orders and we use Sales
Orders for most of them and just release them as Firm as we monitor dates /
schedules and need to easily see their demand against their schedule.

However, we do also use forecasts for some customers as this shows demand
when we run MRP whereas I don't believe MPS does.

We are trying to improve our current process on how to handle customer blanket orders. Deliveries may span a year or more. To be sure to order all parts required for manufacturing, either as one purchase or supplier blanket, we cut multiple jobs where some jobs will not be used for a year or more. Jobs are only cut for firm releases. Once marked as firm, (even though delivery may be several months away) jobs are cut and the time phased report identifies the needs and parts are ordered.

Interested in any and all methods used to cover material requirement needs to support customer blanket orders.

Thanks
Hi,
Have you looked into Forcasts? They allow you to enter Demand without a Sales Order and will drive component demand.
