Didn't copy it, but just made a new customization for this purpose. Once you
go into Customization for the Customer Maintenance form, go to File/Save
Customization As... and give it a name, like 'ContactMaint'. That way the
original is still there as is and you can add a new menu selection when you
are through just for your contact maintenance customization.
Thanks,
Ed

Ed,
Did you copy the form so that the original form was still available for
approved users?

We've accomplished this through a quick customization to the Customer
Maintenance form by just disabling all of the tabs we didn't want them to
get into. We also hid all of the fields on the Customer Detail tab except
for the Customer ID and search button.
Taking it one step further, you can disable buttons on the toolbar and items
on the menubar so they can't delete or add specific data.
Thanks,
Ed

There are a lot of fields on the Customer Maintenance forms.
You could limit customer entry access to contacts if you used security on
all the other fields.
The two ways I've used to secure fields are
- standard field level security
- a recent example of a form customization on this group. It used a BAQ to
check security group membership, a DynamicQuery adapter on the form and then
set fields read only property accordingly.
