Go back to the report builder report and put in delimiters where you would
like them and them export again. We use "*" or the "|" but any character
that won't be in your data to be a delimiter. A little trick is to create a
line by itself in report builder with only the delimiters. Highlight that
line and change the font color to white. Make copies of that line and then
click and drag them into the data lines that you want to be broken into the
columns. This way if you actually print the report the delimiters don't show
up. Also have the data merge left so it moves over to the delimiter to keep
things lined up nicely and eliminate spaces before the data in excel.

We no longer allow attachments to files. To access/share Report Files,

I am trying to extract the top 200 customers for 2000 from our db so I can
do a year end mailing to them. I have an rb report that lists my customer in
order of sales $. When I export the file I get a txt file with no
delimiters. It's a mess when opened into Excel. Any suggestions how I can
pull this off?
