When printing a shipping document, which we do multiple times per day without issues (crystal report based), very rarely it does not print the description and I can’t find why…
So I put up my mining equipment and found this in the crystal reports. Now I am trying to find out how the calculated field CustPartOpts present in the RDD is populated to find what needs to be changed on the Customer file or the order to make sure we don’t get a “default” option.
so if you run the stock Crystal Report does it occur? You may have to add a report style for it as IIRC they didn’t start doing that until the SSRS conversion.
I have no stock crystal. The stock SSRS works though.
So after more digging, I found there seems to be a relation between the 3 print checkboxes in the customer window and the hidden CustPartOpts field labeled as “External Document Settings”. I ran an udpdatble BAQ to overide the field and now it’s printing fine.
However I am struggling to find the root cause the field does not update. I checked in the directives for an update process, nothing. I tried to uncheck and recheck those 2 boxes in the customer, nothing.
I found about 50 customer with a NULL value. I will update them with my BAQ, but not knowing the cause and therefore not being able to fix it for the future
annoys me. The next time it happens in maybe a year, will I remember the link? loll

So I updated the 30ish customer that had a null value. Funny enough though, when I was double clicking a line to update in my BAQ, the value “M” would automatically populate the field and I just had to click Ok and save. Weird.
