Customisation: How to add a search button to a new sheet?

Please clive.1972 if you found any help on this issue let me know because I am also looking forward to see any response to your your question. I am trying to add a search button for suppliers in a Dashboard and I was told to add a Dashboard Browse.
Thank you in advance for any help or comment

Thanks.

No shortcuts Clive.

After you've added your button, use the form event wizard to use a mouseclick down action on your custom button to act as the even trigger for your subroutine.

What code you put inside? Who knows? (You don't get specific enough about what you are trying to do.)

As for the search, why wouldn't the native appliation search work for you (with a BAQ search specific to your needs)?

(I know I must be misunderstanding something here.)

Sorry Clive - Not Form Event Wizard. Use Events Wizard.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the Events Wizard, I'm
poor at coding but can bumble through simple tasks, I'll examine
the 'Epicor Tools User Guide' on this topic.

On my new sheet I need to have the button launch a standard search
against Customers, nothing fancy here. And once the customer has been
selected I need two text boxes to be populated with the customer
number and their name. This is customer data which is not related to
the Sold To, Bill To or Ship To.

Thanks.

It's all starting to become clearer :)

I now understand that I need to create a some code using the Event
Wizard to call the Customer Search program. One problem here is how
the heck do you find out what the Customer Search program is called
as I'm not aware of anywhere that lists all of the available ones ?.

And then more code needs to be writen to pass the results of the
search to a field in orderhed and then I create a Foreign Key View
that allows me to reference anything else I want to pull from the
customer table ?.
