Customisations?

For 1. you can use a BPM to do this, or a customization. The BPM would be the more global way of doing this. You can just put the formula into the Update method and autopopulate that field on save (make the field read-only on the customization).

For 2.
You can link any field you want to be connected to a UD Table.
In the UD tables, you can then create Menu entries so that you can maintain them.
The UD tables have a bunch of fields for use, but when writing BAQs and BPMs you really need to know what data you've put where. So internal documentation is key here.
In E9 I think you can change the description of the fields... but not sure if this comes through to the BPMs / BAQs.

A couple of questions really.

1.Is it possible to populate a user definable field in the quotedtl table based on a formula (say adding together two other fields)?
Is it difficult?
Any examples on how to achieve this?

2.I'm using QuoteDtl.ShortChar01 for users to enter pressure units of measure. Up until now I've been using an ultracombo and manually entered a list for the users to select. I now want the units of measure along with conversion factors to be in a user definable table. My question is how can I get users to select from this user definable table and get it to populate QuoteDtl.ShortChar01.

Many Thanks
What version are you on? 9 and newer have built in UOM support.
