Customization options for hiding a tab?

Ken,

You can restrict access at the field level to prevent non-accounting users
from making changes, though they will be able to see the data.

In customer entry, I'd like to hide or restrict access to the Billing tab from everyone but accounting. Options I can think of:

1. BPM on all fields in the billing tab

a. That's not going to be fun

2. Separate customizations - one for accounting, one for everyone else

a. Easier, but now I'm potentially maintaining two customizations

3. ??

There's got to be an easy option 3. Something I've missed. Tell me it's so! :)

Can't you just do field security on the table/columns? Fields would only
be visible/editable by those allowed individuals. All others would see
blank fields.

You can also do something like this in customization to hide the panel
on the form load, only not executing this line for specific people.

CType(csm.GetNativeControlReference("1f7d0bd6-772e-4620-a68f-b413195b857
5"),Epicor.Mfg.UI.App.SalesOrderEntry.BillToCustomerPanel).visible=false

How about two menu items, one with a customization applied that sets
the tab's visible property to hidden, with appropriate security on each
menu item.

That's how I'd do it.
