Is there any drawback of copying the XML of a customization, changing the relevant parent’s GUID and pasting the XML on another screen? I have done this with a couple of custo and never ran into an issue. Im asking out of curiosity since some control’s GUID are going to be duplicated on different custo.
Any thoughts?

I always end up rebuilding my customizations manually, or using customization maintenance.
That should work assuming you replace it in all the right places with the right GUIDs iv’e done it a few times as a last resort.
I like to add a group box for customized fields in my forms. The only thing I’ve done was to replace the parent GUID of the group box and the related properties. Worked well and saved me a lot of time when I had more than 30 fields to create.
