I've got a couple of simple questions for all of your Vantage experts!
First, as we gear up to implement Vantage, we would like to customize the
Job Traveler to fit our current traveler. Our president said we would need
to obtain "Crystal Forms" in order to do this? Is this correct, how do I
obtain it, and how complicated is it? (relatively speaking for an
accountant!) Second, we need to copy our 3.0 database to 4.0 (we currently
only use 3.0 for accounting purposes only - G/L & A/P) - it was copied for
us back in the spring by someone else, but I was not shown how!. How do I
go about doing this? Any help would be appreciated!

Here are some quick answers to your questions:

1) You would need "CRYSTAL REPORTS", which is a software
package from Seagate. You can get this directly from them, or
usually from anyone who sells software. You may have to connect
to the Progress database with ODBC Drivers to modify the traveler
the way you want it.

2) You can't just "COPY" the database from ver 3 to work in ver 4. You
have to run the data conversions that Epicor provides. Find the
installation
guide for ver. 4, and follow the instructions. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE
AT LEAST 2 VERIFIED BACKUPS BEFORE STARTING, in case
something goes wrong. If Progress 9 is not already installed on your
server,
you will have to install that as well.

Rick,
We have extensively modified the traveler using Crystal Reports (V8). I
