While running a cycle count, one part will not post. It says Not Evaluated Yet. However, the tags have been returned.
Have you run the variation report?
Yes. I had to regenerate tags for it, put in a fake number, and a different bin, then ran the variance report again. Showed up as it will post. Had my guy post and got an error. Sadly, he didn’t get me the error message.
I have helped our teams on two similar stuck counts in January. Both times I had to unreturn the tag. Edit the tag to some other value. Save it and then change the tag back to the original values. Mark it returned and then process the variance report then we could post. It is like the tag is be ghosted by the variance report or something.
Have you put in the count discrepancy reason?
Beyond that, we found parts not posting because someone moved the stock during a count. Check Part Transaction History tracker to see if someone has moved the stock.
This was what I was coming here to say. If everything was done right its almost always this!
Ended up getting a fix as it was only one part and needed to move forward. But yes, you were correct, there was movement on that part in Part tran. Thank you!
From their help page:
You would think that the snapshot would handle inventory being moved around but alas no. We don’t have the energy or time to query with this support, trying to convince them its an issue, or investigate this further.
It’s easier to just send a bold email and notify all shop floor. “DO NOT MOVE STOCK” whilst a count is in progress.
That’s what “Activity before count” is.
Moving inventory “during” a cycle count is not verboten. The system is set up to allow you to hit a moving target.
But the only way to succeed at that is to count at a location and then electronically return that tag at that very moment.
Or you would need to shut down production and then count.
