Cycle counts with serial numbered parts

I was asked about this again so I thought I would see if anyone had
any advise. It seems to be a "feature" instead of a bug.

We have just started cycle counting in 6.10 and, of course, selected
one of just a few components that we serialize. The serialized
component was relocated during the count and correctly counted in the
new bin. Vantage allows for bin changes in the cycle count screens,
but it did not prompt for serial numbers and the counter did not
realize there were serial numbers. Later, when the the parts were
issued, Vantage had the quantity in the correct bin without serial
numbers AND serial numbers assigned to the old bin without any
inventory (orphaned serial numbers?).

Have any of you encountered this before? Do you have a work around?
