I took a moment this morning to compare the Cyprus Survey and the
Enhancement Suggestions collected on the www.vantageusers.org web site. I
noticed the following:

DUPLICATE SURVEY ISSUES:
Accounts Payable #12 and Accounts Payable #18
Inventory Management #12 and Job Management #10

ENHANCEMENT SUGGESTIONS NOT ON SURVEY:
#18 - Financial Sarah Vareschi - Nypro Mold, Inc.
Split the COS account into 4 buckets (labor, material, subcontracting,
burden) Currently there is one COS account and 4 WIP accounts. We would like
the same COS accounts to match the WIP accounts. We need to see the COS
split out into Material, Labor, Subcontracting and Burden. Currently, we
have to do manual journal entries to get this accomplished. It would be
better and save time if the system, which already has the necessary
information, could automate this process.

#32 - Production Kim Wood - Electro Chemical Finishing
When multiple machines are used on an operation but individual machine
schedules are not used and data collection is not reported by machine, the
schedule should relieve the load for all of one day before relieving the
load on the next day. In 2.7 we used machines to reduce duration of the
schedule to reflect variables in our schedule such as extra manning or
available tooling. When 3.0 was released, data collection reported without
using specific machines will relieve the load for 1 machine across all
scheduled days, then start on the next machine. So on shop load, we see each
day reduced but no days completed. This does not accurately reflect the load
per day/week. It also makes the overload informer inaccurate.

Labor Entry Show log of changes made to both time and detail. We have
several people who have to entry or correct time or detail. Our company has
a strict attendance policy. Anyone having access to labor entry can make
changes which also includes changing the start and end times. These changes
should be logged as to by whom and when these changes were made. I would
also like to suggest that a sub security item be added to secure who may
change the time/attendance be different from who may change detail.

Import routines standard for all major database tables!! In today's day and
age, most everyone that purchases this system is moving from an existing
system. They DESERVE the ability to utilize their data in Vantage without

Add a pounds per hour unit of measure for operations. We do in-house barrel
plating that is somewhat difficult to come up with an accurate pieces per
hour and lends itself better to #'s.

I would like to see the idle time selection to be specific to each shop
employee. A company default would still be setup. Currently, we have data
collection users that between jobs may sweep floors while others fix
machines. By assigning different idle time accounts I would save the users
from having to do double entry between jobs and me from having to edit their
times on a daily basis.

A/P Invoice Entry: PO Tracker access is necessary. In 3.0, with PO Tracker
minimized during invoice entry, screen would periodically lock up at the
point of line entry. The only solution was to abort the program
(Ctrl/Alt/Del) and begin again. We were told that this problem would be
solved in Morocco. In fact, we get the same result in Morocco, only worse.
Ease of double-checking PO lines when entering AP invoices.

In 3.0 version in Purchase Management, Purchase Advisor would provide a
price on non-stock items previously purchased. 4.0 version removed this
feature and documented this with support. This will prevent Redundancy of
Purchase Orders as well as the entire return to vendor process due to the
duplication.

I'm not sure this is the right category to choose for a serial number issue
which affects several categories - but it is an RMA type issue. We need to
be able to ship the exact same serial number again. We need that
traceability.
If material is returned to us for additional work or re-work, we need the
traceability of knowing exactly what has happened with a given serial
number. This may mean shipping the same serial number a multiple of times.

Regarding the duplications, I remember from the focus group meetings that
both of these issues were a high priority for many users. Please advise if
this will be used to more fully validate the survey issue.

From the Focus Group meeting discussions Mark had brought up the issue of
separating what is a "bug fix" versus what is an "enhancement." The missing
issue #119 above from Lori at JT Cullen was termed a bug rather than an
enhancement. I believe the exact words were, "It's a dumb button."
Regarding this and the other 12 issues not on the survey, please advise if
these were possibly merged with other issues or are being addressed as a bug
fix - outside of the Cyrpus Survey. 10 of these suggestions originated from
the Midwest User Group and I would prefer to have an answer before our next
user group meeting.

I remember during the focus group meetings, we discussed the possibilities
of providing feedback to the members that submitted suggestions. Is there a
way of possibly using the survey collection data for fulfilling this
communication request. I was thinking that perhaps any user with an
enhancement vote 5 or higher for an issue could be used as criteria for
"automating" an email as to the outcome of that respective issue?

Man, that junk happens WAY too often with web forms! I've gotten clobbered
by HP and Epicor's web sites in the last couple weeks.

Anymore, I copy any lengthy text off the form and save it just in case, as
well as print before hitting "submit." Some of them take 10 minutes or
more, by the time you type in a detailed description.

all right, I'll take it off my todo list until someone from
egroups or Epicor says it is OK to invest the time and
effort in the survey. I just cannot afford to take the time
to do something that will probably crash at the end.

Someone, please let us know when it makes sense to invest
the time.
