Dashboard Questions

Hello All,
Just after a couple of quick (hopefully) answers. I have a dashboard that since last week was working ok then we found that one user although could load the dashboard and could populate the filter field, but when they clicked on the refresh button nothing happened, other users with the same security could use the same projectid and get results. This could be achieved on the same machine and on different ones. Has anyone seen this behavior before, and how did you resolve it.

The second question I have is that the dashboard tabs are defaulting to the wrong tabs on opening, how do I get the correct tab to open for all users at run time?

After looking at the dashboard for some time. I now see that the search field in question projectid is now greyed out, basically this now renders the whole dashboard unusable, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to re-enable the field?

Even reverting to a saved copy and redeploying does not appear to be rectifying the issue.

I created a dashboard and it is not reacting the way I want it to. I have 2 questions that may help me in making it more efficient.
The BAQ runs over PartTran and my criteria selects only certain transaction types. We have been live for over 2 years. The initial load takes about 2 minutes.
Question 1 - Does the initial load time depend on the number of records in the table or the number of records passed to the BAQ?
Question 2 - I set the dashboard up as show group by and show summaries. In development mode, when I use a tracker view to select an part the results come back with the highest group level and + to allow drill down to see more levels and detail. In test mode and when deployed the results come back with the first level expanded all the way done to the detail. I can hit the + or - to expand other levels, but I think this is too confusing for the user to be presented with the first level expanded.
Any ideas on how to make it load faster and keep all levels in summary level?

Any Query against the Part Tran table is going to be slow unless you are
filtering using the Index and even that might be slow. Make sure that your
criteria uses on of the available indexs, if you tell me what data you are
trying to get and to filter on we might be able to suggest what index to
use.

My filter is the transaction type. I am creating a dashboard version of the
inventory usage report. I am currently selecting about 6 transaction types
and then grouping by part, warehouse, year, month. I am displaying on the
detail level the above fields plus tran qty, trans type, po, job, order,
date, description... all from the PartTran table.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mike

I have a very similar dashboard and ended up adding a part filter and forcing them to look at it one part at a time.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I did have a filter on the dashboard, but I was loading the dashboard before
the user could select a part. After I read your suggestion, the light went
on and I unchecked the auto refresh on load. Now my start up time and
subsequent part lookup response time is satisfactory.

Thanks for replying.
