Dashboard Refresh

A refresh interval of -1 means that the dashboard will not auto-refresh.
Example, a setting of 600 will allow the dashboard to auto-refresh every
10 minutes.

2 questions:

1) Refresh Interval: -1 - Someone told me what this meant once before
and I can't find my notes.

2) I am randomly, but annoyingly getting the error: There is no row at
position -1. Seems informational only but is a PITA. I "assume" there is
a record in the publish/filter mess requested that does not exist, which
is ok. So if I can't fix it, how can I get it to NOT show?

I've created a few dashboards now that all have the same problem, so I'm
sure I'm missing something easy.

Basically each one has a tracker search function that publishes and
other windows that subscribe. When I enter the information on the
tracker to search, I have to hit refresh. I then have to go to all the
other windows and hit refresh on them.

Playing with 'autoload' seems to have each window load everything on
startup, this isn't good either. Some of these dashboards if left
defaulted take 10 mins to process all the data (without searches enter
that is).

Any suggestions for how I get the rest to auto refresh?

We have just upgraded from Vantage 803.305k to 403D and have the same
problem, dashboards that worked now don't properly anymore, some of
the standard "out of the box" dashboards don't work properly either,
it seems to only affect dashboards where you refresh the data from the
tracker view, if there is a grid view - no problem the associated
grids refresh as you click down the lists, but with the tracker view
nothing works. This has led me to believe that there is a bug within
patch D. We are now trying to get Epicor to recognise this with the
help of our support.

Interesting, also on 403d, but we haven't done much with dashboards
before now.

Just a note on two open calls I have regarding Dashboard in 8.03.305 and
403.

The system logic currently writes blank field on the end of some of the
entry screens when it is saves the data. I have a call open for issue
material to job that is creating blanks and the end of the part number
field, but hope tech. will look at all the other areas that are creating
blanks. If the data was written to the trans part field table when you
issued a part and you try to group by part number the system thinks that the
part numbers with blanks and without are two different part numbers. I have
received a utility to remove the blanks on the end of all in the data base.
I found that 30% of the data base had blanks added to the end of data.
After running for a couple of weeks I ran the utility again and found more
blanks added to the data base. I have found that when the some of the
default process sets it creates blanks in the tables it writes the data.

The system also gets confused when in the issue screen in the operator hand
types in the warehouse like "warehouse" and your warehouse is currently with
a cap like "Warehouse" you will get variation showing parts issued in some
screen but not others due to Dashboard thinking they are different
Warehouses.

I am hoping that they do not "fix" the refresh portion of
this "problem", I rather like it in that several large dashboards we
use don't spend a lot of time fetching info for every tab until I
tell it too. A real time-saver, considering the snails-pace Vantage
moves at. But we are also seeing problems with dashboards not
functioning properly, many working on only a limited number of the
search parameters, all the way down to the BAQ level. We are moving
from 8.00.xx to 8.03.403D as well. If we can get things working
anyway....
