Data collection corrections

Our Financial Controller is required to check to make sure all
corrections have been made before closing. If corrections are not made,
and the month is closed, we make job adjustments.

Subject: [Vantage] Data collection corrections

I've got a question for this group.
How do you handle any data collection corrections that are discovered
after the month is closed?
When we quote a job that we have previously ran we run a production
datail report to show history. Our VP looks at this report for costing
and profitability data. When the quantity completed is not correct,
and was not caught by the leadmen checking the report prior to the
close of the job, the corresponding Actual "Total Unit" cost is
incorrect(I know that the Actual "Total Unit" cost is a simple
mathmatical calculation of dividing the Total Unit cost by Completed
parts but he wants to see the production detail WITH the correct
calculation on the report before it is presented to him.
We are running Vantage 6.10.532 and we have a VP that insists that the
quantity completed can(will) be changed.
Help and input is appreciated.

To adjust qty you can use 'Job Adjustment' -> 'Labor Adjustment'. If
the job has already been closed, I believe you have to open it first.
Thanks Sarah!
Using Job Adjustment/Labor adjustment we were able to make an
adjustment that offset the incorrect values that existed when we went
through a month end closing. And yes, the job has to be re-opened to
make this adjustment. This was welcome information as Vantage
Technical support told us on two occasions that these entries cannot
be changed once they have gone through a month end closing. Our VP and
Controller are now "happy campers".
Many thanks
