Data Collection Issue - v. 5.20

Hi,
We're on 4.00 and are testing with 5.20, scheduled to go live in
late Feb. early March time frame. We have a similar issue with designs being
JIT engineered. What we usually end up doing is creating job releases for
the work that won't change and releasing that work to the shop. And then as
the work becomes firmed up we release the rest. Just a thought.
Just another thought, in 5.20, can you still add operations to
released jobs and use the "added operation" check box feature? I haven't
checked it yet.

Doug

Subject: Data Collection Issue - v. 5.20

We are currently finalizing the implementation of the data
collection (time) on the shop floor and are experiencing a problem with the
inability to clock time to a job that is not engineered and released (HTI
designs and build special machines and we will have pre-releases, design
changes and parts of the job (controls material - field material) that is
entered to the job after the initial release to the shop (work continues on
the job as material is entered for changes, additional material, etc.)
throughout the build process of the job. Does anyone have a solution for
clocking time to a job that is not engineered and released (a must for HTI
to use data collection for time collection on the shop floor)?

Ver: 5.20.211

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

We create Engineering jobs to track our engineering time. These can
be set up quickly with 1 operation, in our case, and marked
engineered and released. This allows us to track their time while
they are putting the shop job together. These engineering jobs then
become a subassembly on the final shop job.
