Data conversion Tool

Good morning. I am coming into this discussion late but wanted to
share my experience with this problem. In summary, you have to be
more selective when loading source data that contains multiple
Warehouse codes(when WarehouseCode is part of the primary key of the
table you are loading, such as PlantWhse). You need to load one
Warehouse at a time otherwise you get the crazy null record problem.
For each warehouse that I loaded, I updated the Warehouse field on
the Connection Window to match the desired warehouse. I also used the
Where clause for my Source data, setting it to the desired warehouse.
This gave me 100% results.

Good afternoon all.

Has anyone managed to import data into the plantwhse table? For some reason
(not the data I've checked!) where a part has two possible warehouse
locations, the second record has it's part number set to null by the
conversion tool and therefore subsequent records are marked as duplicates
and rejected. Has anyone come across this sort of problem with the tool -
I'm probably doing something daft but after five hours of looking I can't
see what's wrong with it.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't had any problems with that table. Sounds like it might be the
destination "where" statement. This is what mine looks like:

PlantWhse.Company = GetCompany() and
PlantWhse.PartNum = GetQuerySourceValue("PartNum") and
PlantWhse.WarehouseCode = GetQuerySourceValue("WarehouseCode") and
PlantWhse.Plant = GetQuerySourceValue("Plant")

My select statement is:
Company, Plant, WarehouseCode, PartNum, PrimBin

A software tool from Epicor used to populate tables in Vantage. This
tool is the only approved method for importing data.

I haven't upgraded to a new version yet but based on info I read from
this group, Epicor has a tool that will convert your data. Don't know
why you would need the conversion tool unless you wanted to bring in
data from another source. As far as the documentation, there is some
but most knowledge will come from this board and hours and hours of
trial and error.

Butch,

Thanks for the advice. I had tried the combination of keys that you'd
suggested but with the same result. I did however just create the query
again from scratch using your destination where statement and guess what, it
worked! I guess the query must have got corrupted or the sequence of keys
may be important.

Thanks for the advice it got it working.
