Data Directive for GL Journal Entry

How would I prevent Journal Entries being made to our GL cash accounts?

I’m assuming Data Directive on GLJrnDtl, GLAccount field?

What would the workflow look like? I can’t get it working.

Let’s say we want to prevent a journal entries on account 1150-00, I pull in the condition and use "Specified field has been changed from “any” to “1150-00”. I can validate and it says nothing is wrong, but when I save in the Data Directives menu I receive this error

I have limited experience with Data Directives, so I appreciate any help!

This is standard functionality but I forgot where to set it right now. You can mark an account as a System Account so that no manual entries can be made to it. One of the more financial types will remember where that is.

OK, I think I found it. In Account Segment Values Maintenance, there’s a Restrictions Tab and I think you can block it there:
