Hi Friends;

As a solution for the doubt raised by me I tried doing the below procedure but I

was not successful. Kindly please help me to sort out the issue

01. Customized the Journal Entry Transaction. Created a text field to enter the
JV Reference number. Assigned the datasource as GLJRNHED.CHARACTER01

02. Created a method directive GLJournalEntry.Update

03. Created a new PRE-PROCESSING

CONDITION is - the GLJrnHed.Character01 field of the changed row is not equal to

the "" value

ACTION is set the GLJrnDtl.Character01 field of the changed row to the
"ttGLJrnHed.Character01" value

After setting the above said when I did the Journal Entry I found that the
Reference number I am mentioning on the GLJRNHED.CHARACTER01 is not getting
written to GLJrnDtl.Character01.

I tried the same with POST-PROCESSING also bu the result was the same.

I hope that I had been clear to explain my problem. Any help for the above would

be highly appreciable.

Regards

Sreejith J

Here is the description of the table in data dictionary:

GLJrnHed
General Ledger Journal Entry Header. This is Parent file to the GLJrnDtl.
These records are only created/used by the G/L journal entry programs. They
are deleted during the posting process.

so i guess no choice but to store them in GLJrnldtl

Hi.

As far as I know the journalhead table is only used temporarily till the posting.
So if you want something stored it has to be on the journaldetail table.

You can have it on the header and with bpm copy it to every line but the header ultimately gets deleted.

First of all I would like to thank Mr. Ephraim Feldman and Ms. Linda to answer
my query.

Initially the key field property was set as FALSE. After receiving your mail I
changed it and tested the transaction but still I didn't find the posting being
done for the value entered in the customized field.

I am also trying the way suggested by Mr. Ephraim Feldman. Hope to get thru. If
there is any easy way then please do let me know.

Hi Further to this, if you can get the data into the GLJrnHedExt

This is the deescription for it.

General Ledger Journal Entry Header Extension. This is an extension file to the GLJrnHed to hold header level information such as text and source of the journal entry. This will serve as a Parent file to the GLJrnDtl. These records are created/used by the G/L Journal Entry and the Multi-Company Journal programs. Unlike the GLJrnHed, GLJrnHedExt is not deleted during the posting process.

Hope this helps

Mark

Hi Friends;

As a solution for the doubt raised by me I tried doing the below procedure but I
was not successful. Kindly please help me to sort out the issue

01. Customized the Journal Entry Transaction. Created a text field to enter the
JV Reference number. Assigned the datasource as GLJRNHED.CHARACTER01

02. Created a method directive GLJournalEntry.Update

03. Created a new PRE-PROCESSING

CONDITION is - the GLJrnHed.Character01 field of the changed row is not equal to
the "" value

ACTION is set the GLJrnDtl.Character01 field of the changed row to the
"ttGLJrnHed.Character01" value

After setting the above said when I did the Journal Entry I found that the
Reference number I am mentioning on the GLJRNHED.CHARACTER01 is not getting
written to GLJrnDtl.Character01.

I tried the same with POST-PROCESSING also bu the result was the same.

I hope that I had been clear to explain my problem. Any help for the above would
be highly appreciable.
