Date/User Stamp Customization

The change log was just an 'easy way out' (no customization required) as they are just as visible (within the app) as a memo.

You should be able to do what you want via the customization you suggested. Either add a button control to initiate the comment entry (as you suggested) or leverage the change field value event (failed qty field) to trigger the same if the value <> 0.

Good luck.

Thanks,

However I'm not sure that is exactly what I'm looking for. I want
the user name and current date to show up in the comments field like
it used to be back in 6.X.

Hello,
In previous versions of Vantage, there was a Date/User Stamp button on
the comments tab for Nonconformances. I noticed that with the release
8.0 it was gone. I have seen that they have readded this type of
button to similar comment fields in other modules. Is there a way that
I can add this type of a button using customization?
You could probably get the same result if you enable change logging for some appropriate field in the inspection record (perhaps qty failed).

That would save the user/date:time of any change to a record in the selected field. You can view it through the applicaitons change log Action.
