Go to http://support.seagatesoftware.com and seach the Knowledge Base for "infinite logon" and follow the instructions on configuring security and registry values to resolve this problem.

Subject: [Vantage] db logon problem with Crystal 8 Web Server

I'm in the process of setting up the Crystal Web Server. I have one problem
that I've not made any real inroads into yet; when I try to refresh the
report data, I'm prompted to log onto the database. I don't know where this
is set up, or what user name & password I need. Anyone know how to turn it
off / configure it securely?

Thanks for any help.

P.S. while I'm setting this up, I'm running a pretty good 2nd best solution
to distribute reports - Seagate have recently released a .pdf export routine
that plugs into crystal, so I'm manually running my reports every morning
and distributing them on our server. Not ideal, but the information is
being shared.

If you want the .pdf export routine, go to
http://community.seagatesoftware.com/updates/default.asp and do a search on
your version of Crystal. I think it works with 7 and 8, but I'm not sure,
might be for 8 only.

We no longer allow attachments to files. To access/share Report Files, please go to the following link: http://www.egroups.com/files/vantage/
(Note: If this link does not work for you the first time you try it, go to www.egroups.com, login and be sure to save your password, choose My Groups, choose Vantage, then choose Files. If you save the password, the link above will work the next time you try it.)
