Norm,
You only need to stop the (PlayDB). Restore while you are in the PlayDB,DB
Directory and restart your PlayDB.

Has anyone sucessfully used the "PROREST" utility to restore a backup of the
vantage 4.0 data base to a different directory to use as a "play db"?
We currently have a "play db" but it is not updated until a server problem
crops up that necessitates re-boot.
We back up daily with "backvan.bat", and for users that can live with
"day-old" information, the restore would seemingly work great to alleviate
the "no license available" problem.
Does Progress need to be stopped, or can I just stop the "play db" and
perform the restore to the "play db" directory and restart the "play db"
thanks in advance for any insight.
