Dcdv7.lg

This has been generated without the user disconntecting. This is happening
to one user primarily and I have watched while he has been kicked out of the
system for no obvious reason. To my knowledge he does not simple switch off
his machine without shutting down.

This usually happens when a user disconnects without logging out of the
database first. A couple of questions:

- Have any of your users reported being kicked out of the system suddenly,
for no obvious reason?
- are any of your users in the habit of simple switching off their machine,
without first doing a shutdown?
- Is it always the same user who creates this error message? (To determine
this, you will need to back through the log, and see who user 17, in this
case,actually is)

As far as I have seen over the past 8 months that we have been using
Vantage, that error message occurs whenever Vantage is not shutdown properly
on a user machine. One example would be cold booting the machine while
Vantage was running. Vantage recognizes that the session was ended, but it
was not ended in the 'normal' way. In these cases, this is generated in the
log.

Your users could be turning off their computers without exiting Vantage or
clicking start, shutdown-a big no-no. Also, if they have some kind of
lock-up in Vantage and do CTL+ALT+DELETE to exit Vantage, they will
sometimes trigger that error.

Wondering if anyone can tell me what triggers this message in the database
log andhow I can fix it. This has suddenly started to happen the last
couple of days. We are on 3.00.

1: Usernum 17 terminated abnormally. (794)
1: Begin transaction backout. (2252)
1: Transaction backout completed. (2253)
